Pula Golf Resort celebrates Earth Day 2025 with sustainable actions and clean energy

This 22 April, Pula Golf Resort joins the global celebration of Earth Day 2025 under the theme “Our Energy, Our Planet”, reaffirming its commitment to sustainability through innovative initiatives aligned with energy transformation and the principles of the circular economy.

On the occasion of its 30th anniversary, our renowned resort in Son Servera (Mallorca) consolidates its position as a benchmark in responsible tourism by leading the implementation of the Competitive Regenerative Hotel (CRH) model — a philosophy that generates more positive than negative impacts and positions the resort as a true asset to the planet.

Committed to clean energy

In line with Earth Day’s call to triple clean electricity by 2030, Pula Golf Resort has transformed its facilities to run entirely on 100% renewable energy. Key initiatives include:

  • Installation of photovoltaic solar panels on rooftops.
  • Use of certified green energy supplied by Alcanzia.
  • Geothermal and aerothermal systems in the hotel suites.
  • Electric vehicle charging points.
  • Full replacement of lighting with LED technology.

A resort pioneering circular economy practices

Beyond energy, Pula’s environmental commitment embraces a holistic approach based on circular economy principles:

  • Irrigation of the golf course using recycled water.
  • An organic garden of over 6,000 m² providing fresh fruit, vegetables, and eggs to S’Era de Pula restaurant.
  • Use of organic kitchen waste as animal feed.
  • Elimination of single-use plastics and exclusive use of biodegradable napkins and eco-pack cleaning products.
  • Regular donations of surplus food to local municipal programmes.

Innovation, territory, and community

Pula Golf Resort is much more than a golf course redesigned by José María Olazábal. It is a regenerative ecosystem that integrates technological innovation, social responsibility and cultural sustainability. From its suites in a restored 16th-century manor house to its kilometre-zero restaurant, every corner of the resort is designed to enhance the wellbeing of guests, staff, the local community and the natural environment of Mallorca.

“Sustainability is not a marketing strategy; it’s our way of life,” says Arnau Sala, General Manager of the resort. “We believe in a tourism model that protects the land while delivering authentic, high-quality experiences.”.

Towards a regenerative future

Recognised as the world’s first regenerative golf course and the first resort to obtain ARC 360 certification, Pula Golf Resort continues to develop projects aligned with the 2030 Agenda and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Its Competitive Regenerative Strategic Plan (PERC) spans five key areas: governance, economy, society, environment, and culture.

On this Earth Day 2025, Pula Golf Resort reaffirms its role as an international leader in sustainable tourism. Its pioneering model proves that luxury experiences can go hand in hand with caring for the planet. Because protecting Mallorca also means caring for those who come to enjoy it.
